Freeform has renewed supernatural drama series Motherland: Fort Salem for a third and final season. Created and written by Eliot Laurence, Motherland: Fort Salem stars Taylor Hickson, Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Amalia Holm, Demetria McKinney, and Lyne Renée. The drama is set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution nearly 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country.
Brandon and Marco Beltrami have finished scoring Fear Street 1978, part 2 of Netflix’s horror trilogy, Fear Street at Abbey Road studios in London. Based on the popular R.L. Stein anthology series, Fear Street 1978 is directed by Leigh Janiak and stars, Gillian Jacobs and Sadie Sink. The score is greatly inspired by the late/great Jerry Goldsmith and his Oscar winning score for The Omen. The full score soundtrack is available for purchase on all platforms including Amazon music.
Chaos Walking, directed by Doug Liman and starting Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland, is now in theaters and will hit VOD on April 2nd. The soundtrack, a co-score between frequent collaborators Brandon and Marco Beltrami will be released the same day. Chaos Walking follows a dystopian future where there are no women and all living creatures can hear each other’s thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise. Marco and Brandon’s score blends electronic sci-fi elements with gritty western themes and orchestra to convey this dark future.
The Way I See It, the new documentary about White House photographer Pete Souza, directed by, Dawn Porter, just won the Critics’ Choice Documentary Award for Best Score, which was written by Marco Beltrami, Brandon Roberts and Buck Sanders.
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is an upcoming action thriller directed by Stefano Sollima based on the 1993 Tom Clancy novel. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as Navy SEAL John Clark who goes on a path to avenge his wife’s murder only to find himself inside of a larger conspiracy. Brandon composed Additional Music alongside Jónsi, from the Icelandic Post-Rock band, Sigur Rós.
